MY RACE REPORTS

I have been entering races for 9 years now. The first one was an 8k race in July 2000 at the CNE on the Molson Indy track. The next one was in October at the Casino Niagara Marathon. I love writing up reports on the races I do because it allows me to re-live the race and reflect on what I did right and what I did wrong. Skating races are very strategic because drafting is such a big element in almost all races. I used to hate this about skating races but now that I have more experience it has become part of the fun. There is no better feeling than skating a marathon with a large group and knowing that you would be 10 minutes behind if you were skating the distance alone. Most of the reports listed below were written within a week of the race. After the original reports were witten I have sometimes done a bit of editing and added a few comments (in red script). I have also written a couple of short accounts especially for this space (again in red).
